Dear Sir,
We wish to thank you sincerely for the extraordinary assistance provided by your employees in
responding to the preparatory work required for the National Day of Mourning of September 14, 2001,
on Parliament Hill.
The National Day of Mourning was to honor the memory of those who lost their lives
in the terrible events that took place in the United States. Thousands of federal employees
were encouraged to attend this event and those that could not were encouraged to participate
by viewing the televised event, which was carried by most networks.
The Hill being the location for such broad exposure, it was eminent for Public Works and Government
Services Canada to have the Grand Stairs clear of any construction equipment or debris for the national
telecast event. Your company provided a superior level of service to our department in these preparations.
We would therefore ask you to convey to all of the employees involved, our
sincere appreciation not only for a job well done, but also for their extraordinary commitment to
meeting such a tight deadline in support of PWGSC. Without the competent and dedicated assistance
of your employees, we could not have achieved the success that we did in delivering the setting
for this meaningful ceremony across the nation.
Our sincere thanks
